Wintering on the Black Isle

For the first time, we’re extending our opening to the winter season with reduced rates and an enhanced wellness experience. To help you really hunker down and switch off in the Scottish Highlands, our self-catering cottages are completely yours to call home—roaring fireplaces, deep soaking tubs, board games and all. While our restaurant and bar take a break, we’ll stock your kitchen with artisanal hampers, ready-to-heat meals, and pre-mixed cocktails, and our chef can be pre-booked for fuss-free, in-cottage dining experiences. We’re also happy to recommend our favourite local suppliers if the larder needs to be topped up during longer stays.

We’ve added a sauna and cold plunge pool to the field below Red Gates, which can be reserved in just-for-you slots for some slow paced rural relaxation. Embracing the Cromarty coast in the colder months comes with its own charms and rewards, when the mountains and forests are dusted with snow, and the resident pod of bottlenose dolphins keeps you company on quiet beach walks. Where better to withdraw from the world, immerse yourself in nature, and bed down with the soft lowing of our Highland cows as your wake-up call.
